Course Requirements
- At least one course in infant, child, and adolescent development (0-18 years of age)
- 15 credit hours related to the following areas (5 additional 3-credit classes)
- multicultural child and family issues
- childhood medical conditions
- health communication
- medical terminology
- developmental psychology
- health psychology and/or child life theory
Additional course recommendations:
- medical ethics
- anatomy and physiology
Please note: It is required that students complete at least one course in child development (0-18 years of age) to apply to the program. If the child development course is not specifically titled “Child Development," the applicant may be required to provide a course syllabus that supports that at least 75-80% of course coverage focused on ages 0-18 years. A variety of other classes can be used to meet the remaining 15 credit hours of coursework requirements.
