Course Requirements

Admission to the program requires the completion of at least one course in infant, child, and adolescent development and 15 credit hours (5 additional 3 credit classes) in courses related to multicultural child and family issues, childhood medical conditions, health communication, medical terminology, developmental psychology, health psychology, and/or child life theory. Additionally, it is recommended that potential students complete a course in medical ethics and anatomy and physiology.

Please note: It is required that students complete at least one course in child development that focuses on ages 0-18 years to apply to the program. However, a variety of other classes can be used to meet the remaining coursework requirements.
